Students raise $3000 for Haiti earthquake victims

Students of Dawood Public School (DPS) raised around Rs 253,050 ($3,000) for the earthquake victims of Haiti as part of their regular fund raising for charitable causes.

The funds were generated by nearly 1600 students through bake sales at the school. The amount would be donated to the United Nations for earthquake relief efforts.

The severe earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12 has destroyed the capital Port-au-Prince. The International Red Cross estimates that about a third of Haiti’s 10 million people are in need of aid.
