The BAZM-E-SEERAT-UN-NABI (S.A.W) was held in the Secondary section of Dawood Public School on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. It was attended by students, teachers, Principal and the CEO. It was a very well-organized event owing to the painstaking efforts of the Qura’an teachers (Ms. Uzma Younus, Ms. Asia Irfan) and other staff who voluntarily helped them. Students and teachers participated in the celebration ardently, paying respect and showing reverence towards the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S. A.W). The students also delivered speeches and recited na’ats shedding light on the life and distinctive personality of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W). Durood and Salam were offered in praise of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) throughout the event. A documentary ‘Life of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W)’ was also screened, which documented events after the revelation of God’s word to Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W), the spread of Islam and the teachings of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W). Attempt to explain the concept of Jihad as introduced by Islam was also made with the help of examples from the life of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) and in the light of his teachings. The documentary sought to explain the essence of Islam and its true nature to distinguish it from the elements and acts of extremism that are being carried out in the name of Islam today. The event enlightened the audience with na’ats and speeches highlighting the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W). It also made them ponder over the values taught by Islam, and question the seeds of hatred that are being sown and violence that is being spread in the name of Islam these days.
