After Mid-year Examination activities in Pre-Primary Section:

On Monday December 19, 2011 we organized a puppet making day from recycling old socks in Nursery class of Pre-Primary Section to instill habit of reusing things rather than discarding it after using it once. Children were encouraged to make puppets of their choice such as snakes, rabbits, elephants etc to show the affection for their belongings they even assigned a pet name for their puppets.

On Tuesday December 20, 2011 we organized a freehand painting day on T-shirt. Children were encouraged to use their imagination and be creative as they were not given any directions from their teachers which then turned out as a beautiful surprise. They were engrossed in exploring their imagination with lots of fun and enthusiasm. They were not given any paint brushes and were instructed to use their fingers for painting which gave them complete freedom to discover that it can be real fun in getting dirty with paints.

Children have imaginative mind and they love to be in their world of imagination. They just need some platform to explore. By keeping this thing in mind an activity “ Around the world on magic carpet ” was held in the Pre-Primary Section on December 21, 2011. This activity was done in classes along with respective class teachers. Children were supposed to close their eyes and imagine that they are on a magic carpet which is taking them to different parts of the world. Teacher was giving them information about the places they were exploring in their imagination such as China, Japan United Kingdom, etc.

This activity increased their general knowledge and gave them the understanding about the world around them and diversity of cultures. In the second half of the day children of KG II made bookmarks which had information about food and insects of these different cultures they explored earlier.
